West End Baptist Church is a missionary-minded local assembly, affiliated with the East Tennessee Baptist Association, the Tennessee Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.  The church has tradionally provided active Bible study through its "Sunday school" and Wednesday and Sunday evening services.  Special seminars and fellowships are held at various times during the year.  Discipling of Christians has been one of Pastor Mooty's interests during his cumulative of twenty year pastorate.

young preachers coming through its ministry, serving the evangelistic and educational needs of several local churches.  The fifty-two year long radio ministry has broadcast the services live into untold numbers of homes in the listening area of WLIK-AM and now, the world-wide internet  ministry.

The current thrust of the ministry outreach is to edify and educate the believers; and to encourage and evangelize the non-believers.  Many avenues of Christian ministries are enlisted to accomplish this world-wide ministry, while tending a local ministry.  The church has been the venue for southern gospel concerts, using both local and national groups; and its dramatic presentations have reached thousands of souls.

A current ministry is that of publishing, with books, study-guides, compilations and newsletters coming of the presses of its "New Media" department.
